We believe in Salvation through belief in and confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. (Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-10; John 14:6)
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:2,27; Matthew 28:19; 1 John 5:7)
We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21)
We believe Jesus Christ, conceived of the Virgin Mary, is the only begotten Son of the Father. Jesus was crucified, buried, and rose from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father. (Luke 1:26-33; Hebrews 7:25)
We believe we are justified (declared righteous under the blood of Jesus) when we repent of our sins and place our trust in the finished work of the cross. (Acts 13:38,39; Romans 5:1; 1 Cor. 6:11; Mark 1:5)
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gives the utterance, to be the initial evidence of this experience. We believe in the operation of the 9 gifts of the Spirit and encourage our people to live so that these gifts may be manifest in their lives. (Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:6; 1 Cor. 12:4-11)
We believe in water baptism by immersion in water in the name of Jesus. (Matthew 3:11; Matthew 28:18-19; John 14:6)
We believe in divine healing for the body. (Acts 3:2-12; Acts 5:15,16; James 5:14-15)
We believe every blessing we receive from God comes through the merits of the atonement (Jesus’ complete sacrifice for us on Calvary). (Romans 5:11; James 1:16-17)
We believe in the Second Coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:10,11; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 1:7)

Our Youth Ministry. Lead by Pastor Chris, GenNow is an active group of teenagers. Meeting regularly on Wednesday evenings each week at 7:00 and on the first Friday of each month for Youth Alive, a fun filled evening of music, games and ministry.

Rock Solid Church is a non-denominational, spirit-filled body of believers in Hudson, New York under the leadership of Pastor Jaron Halsted. The church began in March, 1999 as a church plant out of Greenville Christian Life Center under the apostolic oversight of Pastor Ernest Fink. Pastor Halsted served at Greenville Christian Life Center for 12 years in a variety of capacities that included Head Usher, Home-Group Leader, & Youth Pastor. Alongside his wife Brenda, and three children, Pastor Halsted began the pastorate with a few families and through the faithfulness of the Lord has watched as the congregation has grown to 300 members.

The pastoral leadership of Rock Solid Church possesses a faith-filled vision for impacting the city of Hudson, Columbia County, the surrounding towns and communities, the northeast United States and other nations as the Holy Spirit directs. Missions both home and abroad are a bedrock of the ministry focus of Rock Solid Church. Foreign missions have continued to increase each year with specific involvement now in five different nations. Each year the church has sent ministry teams to aid the construction of church buildings, medical clinics, schools, homes, and orphanages in such places as Zambia, Guatemala, India, Haiti, and the Philippines. Locally, the church has a vision that includes youth and children's outreaches, food and clothing distribution, ministry to the needy, facilities for compassionate care, training, education, recreation, and more with daily ministry to people in need from all walks of life.

Rock Solid Church is a family-centered congregation for all ages representing people from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life. Its governmental structure is autonomous and self-governing established on the pattern of the New Testament early church. Using the Book of Acts as a blueprint, the church is structured with local ordained elders as well as apostolic relationship with other Christian leaders outside of the congregation. The church is affiliated with Christian Life International of Albany, New York, where Pastor Halsted serves on the Presbytery Board with Pastor Ernest Fink of City Harvest Family Church in Albany, NY and Pastor Robert Ilardi of Christian Life Fellowship of Yonkers.

Pastor Christopher Romano

Youth Pastor

Pastor Christopher Romano is the pastor of Generation NOW!, the youth ministry of Rock Solid Church in Hudson, New York. Alongside his wife Tara, and four children, Samuel (9), Hannah (7), Caleb (5), and Abby Fay (3), Pastor Romano is committed to reaching a disconnected, and fatherless generation of young people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Romano was born and raised in Ravena, N.Y where he excelled as an All-State Quarterback for the R-C-S Indians. Following graduation he attended Siena College in Loudonville, NY where he received his B.A. in History and Education and later Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia where he earned his M.A. in Religion and Biblical Studies. In March, 1998, Pastor Romano’s life was completely transformed as he encountered the living God and gave his heart to Jesus Christ. From the day he was born-again, Pastor Romano began serving in the house of the Lord. Following in the footsteps of his pastor and spiritual father, Jaron Halsted, Pastor Romano began serving at Rock Solid Church as a Sunday School teacher, usher, and youth leader. In April, 2006, Pastor Romano was set in as an elder and Youth Pastor where he continues to serve to this day. After serving in both public and private education for ten years as a history teacher and coach, God opened a door in the summer of 2008 to allow Pastor Romano to serve full-time on staff at Rock Solid.

The foremost passion of Pastor Romano’s heart is to see the broken lives of young people of all ages repaired and restored through the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. Following the ministry model of 2 Timothy 2:2, it is the conviction of Pastor Romano and his wife Tara to create a culture and atmosphere of discipleship in order that young leaders can be mentored, trained, and developed that they might impact the church, their schools and universities, their jobs, their families and the world around them.

Pastor Jaron Halsted

Senior Pastor

Pastor Halsted was born and raised in Earlton, New York. He attended Coxsackie-Athens High School where he was a standout quarterback and linebacker for the football team. In 1982, He graduated from Coxsackie-Athens and enlisted in the United States Air Force. From 1984-1987, he was stationed at Anderson Air Force Base in Guam and then later at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi where he served as an aircraft/airlift maintenance bombardment specialist. It was in Biloxi, on January 1, 1987 that Pastor Halsted gave his life to the Lord. It was also in Biloxi where Pastor Halsted found his bride, Brenda, and they were married in October of the same year.

Upon moving back to New York, Pastor Halsted began attending Greenville Christian Life Center under the pastoral leadership of Ernest Fink. For 12 years, Pastor Halsted served at G.C.L.C in a variety of capacities including Youth Pastor, Head Usher, & Home Group Leader. He also led several foreign mission trips to such places as Jamaica, Guatemala, Africa, & England. In March, 1999, upon agreeing to the wisdom of the apostolic council of Christian Life International, Pastor Halsted and his family were released to pastor Rock Solid Church in Hudson, New York.

After assuming the pastorate at Rock Solid, Pastor Halsted began the ministry with just a few families. However, building on the principles of the Word of God and using a ministry focus of prayer, worship, and discipleship, the church began to grow and prosper. Over the past 10 years, God has been faithful to add to the house and currently the congregation consists of 300 members.

Missions has continued to be an emphasis in the ministry of Pastor Halsted. Since the inception of Rock Solid, the church has sent out missionary teams to the nations of Zambia, Zimbabwe, India, Guatemala, the Philippine Islands, and Haiti. Fueled by the trans-local vision of Pastor Halsted, the church has sent ministry teams to aid the construction of church buildings, medical clinics, schools, homes, and orphanages. In the fall of 2005, Pastor Halsted led 5 different missionary teams to the Gulf Coast to aid in the relief and recovery effort following Hurricane Katrina. At home in Hudson, Rock Solid is involved in various outreaches to the community including youth and children's outreaches, food and clothing distribution, ministry to the needy, ministry to the incarcerated, and to all who are in need of compassionate care.

Pastor Halsted resides in Claverack, New York with his wife Brenda, and his three children, Nicholas (19), Chelsea (17), and Jaron Michael (16).
