Pastor Jaron Halsted

Senior Pastor

Pastor Halsted was born and raised in Earlton, New York. He attended Coxsackie-Athens High School where he was a standout quarterback and linebacker for the football team. In 1982, He graduated from Coxsackie-Athens and enlisted in the United States Air Force. From 1984-1987, he was stationed at Anderson Air Force Base in Guam and then later at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi where he served as an aircraft/airlift maintenance bombardment specialist. It was in Biloxi, on January 1, 1987 that Pastor Halsted gave his life to the Lord. It was also in Biloxi where Pastor Halsted found his bride, Brenda, and they were married in October of the same year.

Upon moving back to New York, Pastor Halsted began attending Greenville Christian Life Center under the pastoral leadership of Ernest Fink. For 12 years, Pastor Halsted served at G.C.L.C in a variety of capacities including Youth Pastor, Head Usher, & Home Group Leader. He also led several foreign mission trips to such places as Jamaica, Guatemala, Africa, & England. In March, 1999, upon agreeing to the wisdom of the apostolic council of Christian Life International, Pastor Halsted and his family were released to pastor Rock Solid Church in Hudson, New York.

After assuming the pastorate at Rock Solid, Pastor Halsted began the ministry with just a few families. However, building on the principles of the Word of God and using a ministry focus of prayer, worship, and discipleship, the church began to grow and prosper. Over the past 10 years, God has been faithful to add to the house and currently the congregation consists of 300 members.

Missions has continued to be an emphasis in the ministry of Pastor Halsted. Since the inception of Rock Solid, the church has sent out missionary teams to the nations of Zambia, Zimbabwe, India, Guatemala, the Philippine Islands, and Haiti. Fueled by the trans-local vision of Pastor Halsted, the church has sent ministry teams to aid the construction of church buildings, medical clinics, schools, homes, and orphanages. In the fall of 2005, Pastor Halsted led 5 different missionary teams to the Gulf Coast to aid in the relief and recovery effort following Hurricane Katrina. At home in Hudson, Rock Solid is involved in various outreaches to the community including youth and children's outreaches, food and clothing distribution, ministry to the needy, ministry to the incarcerated, and to all who are in need of compassionate care.

Pastor Halsted resides in Claverack, New York with his wife Brenda, and his three children, Nicholas (19), Chelsea (17), and Jaron Michael (16).
